DJ Akademiks’ Podcast
In 2018, a rival blog called Hip Hop Overload said that DJ Akademiks was working as an informant for federal agents to help bring down the rapper Teka$hi69 (6ix9ine) for racketeering. This caused a lot of controversies. The blog said that Tekashi’s former manager, Kifano Jordan, called him a fake best friend of the rapper and agreed to be an informant to help him avoid being charged with obstructing justice.
After these claims, DJ Akademiks went to the media company TMZ to say that he was not guilty. In a public statement, he said that he has never been questioned about any of the things he’s been accused of, nor has he helped with any of them. Kifano Jordan’s lawyer also said that his client had not been in any interviews that pointed the finger at someone else for a crime.
